Mission:
Mission 5 - The Cold War Ends
Location: Faltan Station
Timeline: MD04 -1915
A party was going on, causing a bit of a distraction while Hotaru did as she was commanded to do. That of getting Warlock, the Faltean, back to his planet and go find information as to what was going on. Proof of what he claimed was happening and get the Federation involved. Stopping this Governor Taga from continuing her reign of terror.
While party goears were heading to the shindig, Hotaru took Warlock to where she had stashed her own ship. She gave pause, Hotaru wasn't looking like herself, so she couldn't get to her own ship. That would cause some suspicion.
"Warlock who did you get a ride to the station with? Do you have a time table to meet back up with them?" Hotaru weighing the possibilities or paths they could take.
Warlock told Hotaru, "I smuggled myself onto a ship that came down to Faltan. No Federation ships are allowed there, so I could not tell you whose ship I arrived on or how I'm going to get back and now with that reporter's announcement, I am much more concerned."
Brian Cancielleri was the medic for The Kingsmen. So, the orders he had received from Patton were outside what he would normally do. However, it needed to be done so here he was. Brian found Hotaru, and Warlock in the vicinity of Intelligence. He approached and stopped next to them. In a whisper he spoke. "I have orders to get you both off the station. Just follow my lead. Now we head to the docking ring. You have to move like you belong there. As if you are on a mission of import." He shouldered his phaser rifle and took point. "Let's move."
Warlock put his hood up, covering his obvious Faltean ears. He told everyone, "I think I'm likely best somewhere in the middle, don't you?"
Hotaru gave a nod, Patton did have a way help things move along.
She adjusted her position to be behind Warlock. Her thought process also was going over the announcement by Candy. That news reporter was going to cause quite the problem, she already was. She pulled her own hood over her head, she and Warlock were about the same height.
She kept her eyes focused on the marine in front, but was alert, as to what is going on around them.
Velric Thol, so that was the name of the person who called himself Warlock. How he acted made a lot of sense. Now to just get to her runabout and get Warlock to where they need to go.
Warlock allowed himself to be hurried about. He kept his hood up so his ears would not stick out and identify him. Saying nothing, he just tried to keep up and keep his disguise up.
Brian led the group at a quick pace. Between the weapon on his shoulder and the way he carried himself most people avoided them. However, in the rare instance that someone did present a hurdle of sorts. Brian spoke up. "Move it people, move it. Clear a path." When he gave that comment he would pick up his pace to a jog. This gave the illusion that they were in a hurry. Which had the advantage of being true.
They arrived at the docking bay with little to no challenge. This did not surprise Brian as most of the off-duty personnel were at the captain's party. Those that were on duty had a job to do. Although, at the moment he hoped that Aer managed to get the docking clearances or this is going to be one hell of a short mission. "Wait here. When people start to leave the bay, you rush in through the crowd." he said to his charges, and he stepped into the bay.
A simple nod from Hotaru, as she followed Brian.
"Rush through the crowd?" Warlock asked nervously in urgent hushed tones. "But if I get jostled and my hood comes off? I would be recognized as Faltean...."
"Just lower your head and hold onto the hood, best thing to do to keep your identity hidden."
Brian stepped into the bay and unslung his weapon. "Listen up people. I need this bay cleared on the double. This is an official SFMC action. No questions will be answered. These orders come from the Colonel directly. Now move it move it." The people that worked in the Bay looked up with a look of surprise. However, none seemed to challenge Brian. They all began to pour out of the docking bay.
Hotaru was rather impressed with how quickly the docking bay emptied. She'd only heard about Jack Patton, had heard rumors of him, the man had clout. Her mind wandered over towards Warlock, having some interest as to his revealed identity. That won't be brought up unless he wanted to talk about it. Her first and foremost goal was to get information about what went on with the planet.
"Just breathe Warlock, just breathe, we'll get through this." she whispered to the Faltean.
As the last of the personnel left the bay Brian checked his rifle. It was set to stun, it was shouldered and he took aim for the door. "Move, move. Get aboard and dust off. I will take care of anyone who enters."
Hotaru pulled on Warlock's elbow guiding him over to where her ship was waiting, punching in her keycode, the hatch opening up.
"Get in, get in!" she urged him, Hotaru moving quickly towards the cockpit of her ship. The hatch closed behind them, Hotaru's fingers dancing over the console starting up the runabout.
"Sit down and lets get going." Hortaru urged the now proclaimed criminal.
The soft hum of the runabout rose to where Hotaru could hear that it was ready. It rose from the deck, Hotaru moving the craft towards the shuttle bay doors. At first she didn't know if they could leave but a signal could be read over the screen. Hotaru smiled, all was green. The craft zipped out from Faltan Station, and they were free! And now... begins the hard work.
Warlock looked over at Hotaru. "Exactly how are you going to be getting me back on my planet without being noticed?"
"Trust me, I've done this before." Hotaru said with confidence. "And when we get near your planet, all we need is to find a little storm and I'll be able to get us down without our being immediately noticed."
Warlock looked over at Hotaru and asked, "Do I really have any other choice at this point?"
"You most definitely do not have any other choice" Hotaru answered firmly, as she guided the vessel towards their destination.
